I hold a PhD in Psychology and trained in conducting non-clinical research. My academic path was shaped by decades of real-world problem-solving experience in high-stakes environments. And now my passion lies in helping people in other ways – from sharing research insights to elucidating contextual psychological findings across target populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before entering the research space, I held my Paramedic certification for more than thirty years, working as a professional emergency paramedic and educator in multiple prehospital disciplines. I also served as a Navy Corpsman with a Marine Corps infantry unit, including a combat deployment. Those experiences, combined with formal training in emergency prehospital medicine, occupational safety and health, and public administration, grounded my interest in how people think, decide, and endure under pressure, as well as the resilience that can come from mental and physical trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My doctoral training focused on research methods and the flexible application of psychological principles rather than adherence to any single theoretical school. Today I pursue independent research that draws on psychology for better understanding and context arising in emergency services, military service, genealogy, and history. My research interests include morality and moral injury, resilience, and the lasting impact of lived experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
