Tax List abstracts and indexes for Huntington, Tyrone, and Menallen townships of York and Adams Counties, from the 18th and early 19th centuries.

Ever look at a tax list? Many of us may initially just flip to surname part and see if a certain name is there, but there is so much more to tax lists. First: what kind of tax was it (yes there were many), when was it ordered and what was the return date, appeal or not, working copy or finished return?

There is so much information hidden on those tax list pages and sometimes making sense of it all is exhausting (this is coming from my latest experience of sitting in a research center for 5 hours and flipping pages from hundreds of years ago).

Current research are these 3 townships primarily, but I may expand the area with further investigating.
